Our Wedding: The Bride Getting Dressed Part Two. The Dress and Veil!

When I first began my search for a gown I knew that I wanted something extraordinary. I also knew that I LOVED Maggie Sottero gowns. They are designer gowns that would make any woman feel like a Queen on her wedding day. My gown search was a fierce one! I refused to look like a typical bride on our wedding day. I wanted a look that would give WOW factor, but with some sassiness and a little bit of edginess too it. Since so many other details were impacted by my personality, my gown had to be one that spoke of me as well. I wanted people to say "I've never seen a gown like that. That's so Angela!" Not traditional, not to modern, but classic.
I was going to wear a gown with a sash that was either Tiffany Blue or Chocolate. However, I decided that since I was being me and going the nontraditional route that I'd just go all out and wear a gown with color. ALL COLOR. I chose a GOLD gown! Yes, GOLD. In person it looked Champagne colored. This dress was selected by Cacky (see upcoming posts). She watched me try on five gowns and then she asked me could she select a few for me to try on. When I was saw it, I was like...hmmmm. Maybe I' m not that BOLD. It wasn't until I put the gown on and looked in the mirror that I felt like a BRIDE! Let's take a look :)
My dress hanging up before I put it on.
Hand beaded "brooch" detailing that gathered the dress on the side.
Hand beaded details. Each bead was sewn on by hand.
I love the attention to details on my gown! After out vows. You can see the bodice and gathering of the gown in this pic.

My Cathedral veil. I LOVED it. It was very long...perfect.
Me at Waterfront Park with my veil blowing in the wind. LOVE this pic.
Another one of me. Nice view of the details on the bodice.
Loved how the wind carried my veil away :)
One of my FAVS!
Full length view of gown and veil.
The back of my gown was a corset. I loved how it laced up instead
of the traditional buttons or zippers on gowns.
Getting dressed.
Cacky was working her magic and getting me in the gown!
Cacky was a MUST have on our wedding day!
I felt like it took forever to lace it perfectly. Well worth the wait!
Getting laced up.
The excitement was building.

Nervous! Woo-sah!
Let the lacing up begin!

Peace, The Mrs.
