Note to the Grooms: The memories are in the details

I do not blog on this site too often (I like to let the Future Mrs. do her thang). I do want to follow up with a bit of info for the grooms out there. PAY ATTENTION to the details! It is so easy to just go by the nearest tux shop, pick out a "penguin suit", get the accessories that come along with the suit and call it a day. When it comes down to your wedding day (unless her parents are paying for EVERYTHING it's your day too...you are getting married as well, right?) make sure that you have something that shows who you are. It could be something as small as "ball and chain" cuff links, maybe a brand new pair of Chuck Taylors (you will need to get an OK from the bride on this one). Where are you getting married? Beach? (how about some fly sandals?), Whatever you do, make sure that you add those little small details that are unique to you. You will be glad you did when you get the pictures back.

Maggie Sottero: Wedding Gown Designer Extraordinaire

In my dress search I tried on a number of designer gowns. However, none of them, and I mean none, fit my body as good as a Maggie Sottero designed gowned. It was if the gown was made just for me. As stated on their website: “Maggie Sottero is among the most recognized bridal gown designers in the world. The company has been a recipient of a number of bridal industry awards, including six DEBI Awards, nine Desert Rose Awards, two DIVA Awards, and three Dallas Rose Awards, as well as numerous additional nominations. An innovator in the industry, Maggie Sottero creates styles that make brides' dreams come true. Creating magic from the moment the gown is tried on, Maggie Sottero brides immediately recognize the best fit in the industry, coupled with the highest quality fabrics, Swarovski crystals, hand sewn embellishments, and lines that flatter a woman's figure. These high fashion gowns offer the look and feel of luxury, at amazingly affordable prices.”

The website can be found at: http://www.maggiesottero.com/

Below are some of the fabulous dresses created and offered by Maggie Sottero.

When purchasing a Maggie Sottero gown you need to ensure that your purchase from an authorized retailer. Maggie Sottero states "We recommend not purchasing on the internet. There is a risk of receiving a copy when placing an order via the internet. When compared to an authentic Maggie Sottero gown, a copy is inferior in construction, quality and fit. We have received many calls from frantic brides asking us for our help because a gown they ordered over the Internet was not what they expected."
Their website also says: Purchasing from an unauthorized retailer on the internet presents many problems including the following reported issues: (a) Receiving the incorrect size gown, (b) Receiving the incorrect color gown, (c) No Support from the unauthorized website retailer you purchased the gown through, (d) A gown being damaged in the shipping process, (e) Losing money to any website that has gone out of business.

My gown is in after almost 4 months!

When I began the long process of searching for my dream gown, I had a particular look in mind. My search for a dress was a fierce one! I did not want to wear “the usual boring bridal gown” in white/ivory with a typical veil. Not knocking those that do, it's just not my cup of Chai tea. I refuse to look like a typical bride on our wedding day. That’s not my style. Though traditional in some ways, when it comes to my attire, I wanted something a little less traditional and more in line with my style and personality. I want a look that is going to give the WOW factor with a little bit of sassiness to it. My accessories will play a big part in the whole look. I am not sure if I will wear my hair up or down. Overall, I want my look to be classic, elegant and edgy at the same time. Sounds weird, I know, but hey, you will see it when it all comes together. My dress is PERFECT! I will say that my dress designer is Maggie Sottero. My next post will be on the chosen designer!

Our Reception Site: South Carolina Aquarium

When we began planning our wedding, there was a certain vision that we had in mind. After looking at a number of ballrooms (some nice, others not so much) we decided to think out of the box! When we looked at the S.C. Aquarium we immediately knew that this was THE SPOT for our reception! It was to die for. It is so not traditional! It is classy, modern & chic. Elegant and inviting. LOVES IT! The view, the ambiance, the water, the fish...THE SPOT! Below are some pics of THE SPOT. What 'cha think?
